30) MAKING NARNIA
We are using the weather as a main component to create the feel of Narnia, In the original film throughout we can see the snow, in order to recreate the snowy feel rather than snowing throughout when the Pevensie's make it to the beavers house we can see them brushing off snow showing that it did snow, the audience then makes the assumption that it was snowing adding to the whole feel of Narnia as snow has connotations of utopian weather. We also are adding clips of snow at the end of the production adding to the whole feel or Narnia. As well as this in editing we are going to add fog effect to create a mysterious feel to the video.
The next component to create Narnia was the setting, Throughout we are setting the location in the wood, we wanted it to be in the wood to create a natural setting that isn't man made, this creates a woodland feel and transports the audience to another out of this world place which is not on earth all adding to the feel of Narnia. We created the beavers house by using a wooden shed, with wood logs and portraits of the beavers, We chose to use a wooden shed as we decided that this would give off the impression that they are not humans they are beavers crossed with humans making to seem more mythical to the audience.
This is the woods we used;
This is some clips/pictures of the beavers den;
As well as this we also used costume, the beavers were dressed it fur coats that were brown colour we chose to dress them in this to give of an animalistic feel to them without having the key characteristics on the face, this along with the beavers house it all adds to the feel of a mythical world. All of the pevensie's are dressed in ordinary clothes which are customised depending on the character, all of them have clothes hat and scarfs to add to the winter weather we tried to portray to the audience.
